My Story + The Birth of “The Healing House”
Hi, I’m Patty.
My work exists to reconnect what feels divided—through storytelling, embodied care, and practical resources for healing and evolution.
I had no clear starting point for physical, emotional, or spiritual healing, deeply lost in stories and storms of emotional states until a huge shift happened that was born out of deep existential nothingness.
About Me
My path into healing work was shaped not by a single moment, but by many twists, losses, and quiet reckonings. An early survivor of childhood abuse that later surfaced as depression and anxiety in my mid-twenties during EMDR therapy. This catalyst quickly became one of the most significant and pivotal moments of my life—“The Dark Night of the Soul”. The Dark Night of the Soul is a questioning phase of the human’s life where old beliefs, identities, or life paths stop making sense. I was in a deep existential lull of my mind and body. It can feel lonely, disorienting, and frightening—because the old map no longer works, and the new one hasn’t appeared yet.
The Dark Night
The Quest Inward + Around the World
Over time, I moved through periods of emotional heaviness and profound existential questioning that no one would address—experiences that slowly unraveled the life I thought I was meant to live. What followed was a deep letting go: relationships, possessions, and certainty; constant trial and error. I sold nearly everything I owned, quit my job and career as a model, moved across the country to San Diego, and eventually lived out of my suitcase for a year—traveling the world, teaching yoga, and working on permaculture farms throughout Hawaii, South America, Asia, India, and Europe. I wasn’t only searching for relief, but for truth.
Along the way, I began to understand that what I was experiencing wasn’t something to fix—it was something asking to be listened to.
I completed a 230-hour yoga teacher training in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga, eventually teaching internationally and weaving together mind, body, and spirit long before I ever entered the clinical space. Through movement, breath, and stillness, I learned how to regulate my nervous system, feel again, and slowly trust my inner compass.
As my curiosity deepened, so did my desire to understand the body through science. I wanted to know why the body responds the way it does under stress, depletion, inflammation, and prolonged emotional strain. That personal inquiry led me into formal training with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and now currently completing a Master’s in Functional Medicine & Clinical Nutrition and now live and practice in Colorado.
Today, my work blends clinical nutrition science, nervous system awareness, and lived experience from farming. I help people understand the root of their symptoms—not just biologically, but within the context of their lives.

About The Healing House 〰️
The Healing House exists as a place to gather resources for a human on the healing journey. It is intentionally structured around two core spaces: the Embodiment Room, which supports physical healing through functional nutrition and yoga( body-based practices), and the Evolve Room, which holds space for inner and soul-level work through writing (poetry), meditation, reflection, and conversation (the podcast). Together, these rooms offer multiple entry points into healing.
The Healing House began first as a podcast in 2020, while living in my home state of Connecticut. At the time, I was searching for any form of free support to help me make sense of deep existential distress. That search led me into spiritual texts, nutritional research, meditation practices, and long-form conversations—anything that might ease my suffering and help me understand what I was experiencing. It is now the name of my business that holds it all!
